Jasmine and Sydney are now 13 Months Old, it is so hard to believe! Both girls are starting to use sign language more and more (of the signs we know :-)) to communicate with us each day. They are busy, busy, running from one plaything to the next and becoming quite the chatter boxes! Sydney even said elephant when we went to the zoo on the 28th of February. We are amazed with how much they are learning and how quickly, this is definitely a fun age.
Unfortunately this year has also brought with it much illness for Jasmine and Sydney. Both of them caught rotovirus, landing Jasmine in the ER and hospital for a couple of days for dehydration and potential infection. Sydney also had a very hard time with the illness, however, we were more experienced from Jasmine's hospitalization and were able to keep Sydney out of the hospital.
The girls went on their first airplane ride to see my sister in Oak Harbor, Washington, and we had a great time breaking her house in, as she is due with a baby boy on March 19th! After getting back from Washington state, the girls caught another illness, which may have been the flu, but very similar to rotovirus (for those who don't know, it is a nasty illness causing persistant vomiting and diarrhea, our girls could not keep anything down, including water).
Here are their 12 month growth stats (and they haven't changed to this day, because the girls have been so sick): Jasmine weighed 17 lbs 4 oz (less than 5th percentile), her height was 28.3 inches (25th-50th percentile), and her head circ. was 17.5 inches (25th-50th percentile). Sydney weighed 18 lbs 2 oz (5th-10th percentile), her height was 29.3 inches (50th-75th percentile), and her head circ. was 17.5 inches (25th-50th percentile).
